Mardi Gras is the greatest party on Earth! Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday," which refers to the tradition of eating rich, fatty foods on the day before Ash Wednesday and the Lenten Season. Mardi Gras is both a special day and an entire season. Also called Carnival, the Mardi Gras season begins on January 6th, which marks the Epiphany (also called Three Kings Day or Twelfth Night). The season culminates on Fat Tuesday, which occurs on different dates each year depending on the timing of Easter.

Not everyone can be in New Orleans, either participating in a parade or watching from the sidewalk or neutral ground. So, check out my Locations/New Orleans page for some tips on how to "be" at Mardi Gras from the comfort of your living room! Whether you join the revelry in the Big Easy or from afar, as always, "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler"!
